Your friendly Iowa quilt shop for quilt fabric, patterns, books and sewing supplies

I don't know where to begin to say thank you for all of your kind wishes for my retirement. It has been so heart warming for me! I have lived my dream of owning a quilt shop and it has not seemed like 19 years of work, but it can't be “work” when you love what you are doing. The success of the shop is due in a large part to my excellent staff, Carol Dighton, Marianne Nodurft, Kathy Hutchinson, Karen Stone and those in the past Cody Kimball, Carol Martens, Jean Fisher, Linda Nahra and Mary Bagby. Ladies who love to quilt and were eager to share that love of quilting with you. And, I could not have done this witout the support of my husband and my family. When I count my blessings this Thanksgiving I will thank God for putting such good people in my life! Blessings to all, Kathy

I am happy to announce that the shop has been sold and I will be enjoying my retirement very soon!

Leanne Fangmann is the new owner and will continue to do business as The Quiltmaker's Shoppe starting November 1.  Leann is a Manchester native and comes from a family of sewists and quilters. She is the sister of Kathy Hutchinson who works here and has been in charge of the Gone Quiltin' Club for several years.  Stop in soon to welcome Leanne, she is eager to meet you and help bring out the quiltmaker in you.

After 19 years in business, I am ready to spend more time with my family and friends, and I am looking forward to having time to sew.  I have a few (or more than a few!) UFO's to finish.

It has been a great pleasure getting to know you, my customers, and helping you with the quilt projects you've made.  I am so grateful for your friendship and patronage all these past years.

Until we meet again, God bless you.

Kathy
